The Tammat Story

Back in August I put up this image of a Stranger Things tribute t-shirt that I want to design and print for myself (like the other ¼ of my t-shirts collection).

I couldn’t decide on which of the two ideas I had in mind — “Pelik Tapi Benar” or “Hairan Bin Ajaib” — so I did an IG story poll and the most votes went to the former.

Fast forward two months later, I’ve not only printed the t-shirts, but did a short film, look book and promo under the name of Tammat @tammatco.

Spent a tad too much of my time/money into this, as my other passion projects, I love it and can’t wait to see where this one takes me.

I’m the last person you wanna invite to watch a horror flick (@futuna could testify to this) but mystery/suspense/thriller genre always intrigues me.

Why “Tammat”? I don’t know, I just like how it sounds and how it appears at the end of old Malay films. Saying “the end” only means there’s gonna be a new beginning.

For now Tammat is a pastiche to 80s pop culture with a modern local twist. Who knows, maybe next concept could be a post-apocalyptic take of classic local folklore.

The “co” in @tammatco (also because @tammat is taken) stands for creative outlet/collective/clothing/etc. So anyone wanna collab on a fun cool project, hit me up!

T-shirt order link is here and on @tammatco IG and Twitter. Give it a like, follow and share. Peace!
